RFID-based Positioning and Sensing

Research on estimating the position and direction of movement of items from radio information obtained from RFID tags. We study positioning and tracking methods that combine received signal strength, phase and antenna placement while accounting for variation caused by the surrounding environment. Alongside a prototype analysis platform that visualizes read states in the cloud, we have also studied low-power communication that sends information by reflecting nearby Wi-Fi signals.
